About the Conference

Sri Lanka's strategic position along key maritime and air routes in South Asia has solidified its status as a pivotal hub for transport and logistics development.

Central to this prominence is the Port of Colombo, which has consistently demonstrated exceptional performance in the global maritime sector. The port's significance is further underscored by its impressive container throughput. The Port of Colombo achieved a record-breaking container throughput of 7.78 million TEUs in 2024, with a target of 9 million TEUs for 2025. This achievement not only highlights the port's capacity but also its critical role in facilitating international trade within the region.

Sri Lanka's tourism sector is witnessing strong growth, supported by a 12% CAGR in visitor arrivals with the growth in aviation sector supporting it. The country has a footfall of 2 million tourists every year with a target of 2.5 million for 2025. Infrastructure advancements are playing a key role, with expressways reducing travel time by 40% and highway/railway upgrades enhancing regional connectivity.

The broader Sri Lankan logistics market has exhibited robust growth trajectories. The market was valued at USD 7.76 billion, with projections indicating an increase to USD 10.43 billion by 2030. This anticipated growth, at a CAGR of 5.01%, reflects the sector's expanding influence on the national economy. Contributing factors to this upward trend include strategic infrastructure investments, policy reforms, and the burgeoning e-commerce sector, all of which have amplified the demand for efficient logistics solutions.

Recognizing the critical importance of this sector, Bricsa Consulting is proud to announce the 2nd Edition Sri Lanka Transport and Logistics conference scheduled for the 16th & 17th June, 2025 in Colombo – Sri Lanka, this two-day event aims to catalyze the advancement of Sri Lanka's transport and logistics landscape.
